Aqua/Hydroponics Upgrade

Aqua/Hydroponics Upgrade Completed!

The vision to have an Aquaponics facility and training at Holy Name has brought imagination into action.  Producing healthy organic food for the community three years ago has put fresh, healthy vegetables, fish, and fruit on our table.  We have lowered kitchen costs and obtained income through the training of others.  The time to move our food production program from a small operation to one that can deliver a giant impact also includes hydroponics.  As you see in the photo of S. Miriam above, the plants are up off the ground.

We thank our supporters for being a part of something bigger than themselves!  We have had missionaries, church leaders and others from all parts of the globe visit and want to bring this method of farming to their homes, villages and towns.  Local residents also want to purchase our lush, organic produce and fresh fish.  Upgrading our current system has opened the door to revenue sources for our Community while meeting the needs of those who want to ensure healthy living.

Generous donors have given to make this project come to life.  What a group of awesome philanthropists!  The facility is state-of-the-art, larger with a concrete floor, larger fish tanks and a filtration system and technology that is automatic.  The entire system ensures that the proper water temperature, fish food dispensing and filtration is efficient and worry free.  All the upgrades have made for much less labor, a better training system, and the ability soon to sell healthy food locally!

A MILLION THANKS to a special group of donors and all our hard-working volunteers!!!
