400th Anniversary of first African slaves to U.S.
At the suggestion of Pax Christi the Benedictine Sisters of Florida tolled the Angelus Bell on August 25th at 3 p.m. in remembrance of the 400th anniversary of the first African slaves brought to the U.S. in 1619. We prayed for healing and for an end to Racism. It is our hope that others were helped to remember and pray as well. There was also a special intention at Eucharist. Such actions can be as significant as a pebble dropped in the water. May Peace ripple out to all. Amen.
